GBU Original – Global Boxing Union

GBU Original – Global Boxing Union logo

The Global Boxing Union (GBU) is an international professional boxing organization with a history extending back to the 1990s. Over the years, GBU has sanctioned professional championship contests across Europe and other international markets, awarding World, Intercontinental and Continental titles in multiple weight divisions.

GBU has been associated with a number of respected figures in international boxing and has crowned champions including established professionals who later competed at the highest levels of the sport. The organization developed particularly strong roots in Europe, with Germany becoming an important centre for its activities.

Today, GBU Original represents the continuation and revitalization of this historic boxing identity. Its mission is to preserve the traditions, championship structure and international heritage of the Global Boxing Union while modernizing its operations and developing new opportunities for professional boxers, promoters and national representatives worldwide.

WIBF Original – Women’s International Boxing Federation

WIBF Original – Women’s International Boxing Federation logo

The Women’s International Boxing Federation (WIBF) is one of the historic international organizations dedicated to the development and promotion of professional women’s boxing. Its history is closely connected with the growth of women’s boxing at a time when female fighters had significantly fewer opportunities, recognition and championship platforms than they do today.

WIBF became an important international title organization, sanctioning women’s World and international championship contests in numerous weight divisions. Its history is associated with pioneers of women’s professional boxing, including Barbara Buttrick, one of the most influential early figures in the development of the women’s side of the sport.

Over the years, WIBF championship belts have been contested by female boxers from many countries and the organization contributed to the international recognition and professionalization of women’s boxing.

WIBF Original is being revitalized with the objective of preserving this historic legacy while building a modern international structure for the next generation of female professional boxers. Its focus remains clear: credible championships, international opportunities and the continued development of women’s boxing worldwide.
