Fighter safety is the foundation of BXA. No title, ranking, broadcast agreement or commercial interest may override the health and safety of a boxer.

Pre-Fight Medical Requirements

•       General medical examination
•       Blood tests (HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C)
•       Neurological examination
•       Eye examination
•       ECG / cardiac screening where required
•       Pregnancy test for female boxers where applicable and legally permitted
•       MRI / CT scan where required
•       Proof of medical insurance
•       Declaration of recent knockouts, concussions or suspensions

Knockout and TKO Suspension Guidelines

Situation Minimum Rest Period
KO or TKO loss 28 days mandatory rest
Second KO/TKO in 12 months 60 days mandatory rest + neurological clearance
Third KO/TKO in 12 months 180 days + full medical review by BXA Medical Committee
Serious injury during bout Until full medical clearance obtained
Extended or stopped on cuts 14 days minimum

BXA Fighter Passport

The BXA Fighter Passport is a digital record containing: license status, medical clearance, fight record, suspension history, knockout history, anti-doping status, weight division history, title history, ranking status and emergency contact information.
